How magnalister can move your business forward

How magnalister can move your business forward
The majority of companies now sell their products and services via various online platforms. As a result, there is a separate seller account for each marketplace. In total, this can lead to a multitude of accounts to be managed. How can listing and managing orders for each seller account be made viable? One option: With a lot of effort and expense. But of course this option is not really satisfying.

This is where magnalister comes into play: The plugin allows you to implement the listing and management of products and orders for the various online markets (for example, Amazon, eBay and many more) centrally from your store system backend. This allows you to manage many seller accounts – without having to maintain each account individually. All information comes together in magnalister.

This has some clear advantages:

  • You reduce the workload for employees
  • You reduce the associated costs
  • You free up employees for other tasks
  • You improve the management of orders and thus increase customer satisfaction
  • You can conveniently open up new markets (locally and abroad) at the same time

The power of magnalister in a few words and numbers

We have been supporting online business with our magnalister plugin since 2009. Over the years we have made it to the top downloads for the most important store systems. For Magento 1 the plugin has been available for many years. We are very happy to offer it now also as an Amazon Magento 2 integration / Adobe Commerce integration. But not only that. We cover many other online marketplaces too.

Online merchants have used magnalister since 2009 and…

  • … uploaded over 70 million products
  • … imported orders worth over 2.2 billion dollars
  • … reached more than 110 million customers

We are proud of these statistics. How about including your product uploads, order imports and customers in the future?

How magnalister works: The central features at a glance

magnalister: The name is backed by many lines of excellent programming code – written, of course, by many professional developers. The individual lines result in interfaces/integrations – so-called APIs, i.e. Application Programming Interfaces. Store systems and online marketplaces are then connected through these interfaces and thus enable the many features.

Which features the plugin offers in detail, we describe in the following subsections. Here we will be looking at product upload, attribute and order status matching, price and inventory synchronization, as well as order import, invoice upload and the customization of the interface via so-called hook points.

Product upload: Automatic upload and efficient product preparation

A core feature of the Magento 2 Amazon connector (Adobe Commerce Amazon interface) is the product upload. Individual products or entire categories can be uploaded. The product information can be edited before it is transferred. Product titles or item descriptions can be changed and product images can be added.

When using magnalister, the product upload from Adobe Commerce / Magento 2 takes place in two simple steps:

  • You prepare the store products for upload
  • You upload the products

1. Product preparation

There are two ways to prepare the products:

  • Requesting a new listing in the product in a catalog – including a matching of product attributes
  • Matching your products with existing ones – product matching

Listing existing products becomes much easier with product matching. Items are matched against items on the relevant platform using a unique identification number (GTIN, EAN, UPC, ISBN, MPN). If an item matches – i.e. if it already exists on the marketplace – existing content such as product title, product description and product features can be taken from the catalog.

Attribute matching, which we’ll discuss in more detail below, also makes life easier for online retailers.

When product preparation is complete, save your entries.

The second step follows.

2. Product Upload

The “Upload” tab displays the correctly prepared products. Central information, for example prices and stock levels, as well as the type of preparation you have chosen, can be viewed here. Now select the desired items and upload them to the online marketplace with only one click. You can upload individual items, multiple items at once or entire categories.

Attribute matching: Match characteristics and variations such as “size” and “color” with marketplaces

This particular feature makes some online retailers or content managers jump for joy. This is because it can save a lot of effort when preparing products in the Adobe Commerce store system. How? Product features and variations are created already during product preparation and in the format that is required by the respective marketplace.

This may sound trivial at first. At the same time, it addresses a common pain point for online retailers: It often happens that product attributes such as “size” or “color” do not match the formats that the respective online marketplaces allow. The result: error messages during upload and time-consuming troubleshooting. With magnalister you very easily ensure correct attribute formatting and avoid the error messages during upload. “Your products have been successfully submitted” – this is a sentence most people like to read.

Furthermore, the correct assignment of product variations and attributes is important to improve visibility on online marketplaces such as Amazon: Another advantage of attribute matching. This is because many customers use the filter function when searching. This, in turn, makes use of product attributes. Only if these attributes are correctly maintained can the items be found via the filter function. So if a customer uses filters to search for the red shoes you carry, she/he will find them.

Price synchronization: General or individual price adjustment

magnalister allows you to automatically submit the current prices from your Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce online store to the integrated marketplace(s) as desired. You can either synchronize the prices uniformly from the online store to the marketplaces or assign different prices for the same products on different marketplaces.

To manage prices directly from Adobe Commerce, you can use price or customer groups. Depending on your needs, you can then use them to set percentage or fixed markups respectively markdowns per marketplace.

Inventory synchronization: Update and synchronize inventory with the Amazon Magento 2 integration

With magnalister you can also keep your store inventory up to date at all times: Thanks to the inventory feature. It allows you to automatically sync the Magento inventory with the connected marketplaces. This also allows you to centrally manage the inventory in your online store or your enterprise resource planning system. If you do not want to use inventory sync, you can simply deactivate it.

In simple words: Each webshop product is recognized by magnalister during order import based on its Stock Keeping Unit (SKU). The stock will automatically decrease in magnalister if for sold products the SKU on the marketplace matches the imported SKU.

Also helpful: The “Inactive items” feature allows you to pause the sale of a product on any given marketplace while continuing to offer it in your online store or multiple webshops.

Automatic order import: Import and manage orders easily

magnalister can automatically import your orders from marketplaces like Amazon into your Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce system. Information such as shipping and payment methods are also correctly stored for each order.

If required, use magnalister’s email templates to automatically keep your customers informed about order or shipping status. Placeholders help you to create the appropriate notification messages.

Order status matching: Synchronize order status between Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce and marketplace(s)

As a rule, customers of online marketplaces have a customer account in which they can see their current order status, for example “order received” or “shipped”. Some marketplace providers – including Amazon – require external merchants to provide this information if they handle shipping themselves. Shipping reliability is usually determined based on this data. Being able to submit order status changes directly from the Adobe Commerce system to marketplaces is therefore very convenient. At the same time, information about the shipping company and the tracking code are sent.

This order status feature helps in many ways: It saves you the effort of sending the information manually. It also improves your chances of ranking better on marketplace results pages. Furthermore, shipping reliability is a ranking factor on Amazon. If you use magnalister for your Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce Amazon integration, you effortlessly ensure that the online giant has the relevant information at all times.

Invoice upload: Send invoices automatically

Should you create invoices yourself, you can upload them directly from your store system to Amazon or other online marketplaces. Use the magnalister invoice wizard to create them or create them in Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce. If you are an Amazon FBA customer and have invoices created by Amazon, this feature is of course not relevant for you.

Hook Points: Customize your Amazon Magento 2 Connector

If necessary, use so-called hook points to customize the interface according to your needs. Hook points allow you to add custom programming code. Define or customize specific features this way. Our hook points are update-proof. They can also be designed according to your requirements and workflow. For example, you can create custom fields for specific order information in your backend. Or you can add a field for an order number that magnalister does not automatically submit. It is worth mentioning that programming knowledge is required to use hook points.
